We have identified a bug that was introduced in our latest deployment to one of our services on Saturday, April 4th at 11 am UTC and has affected the tracking of a subset of analytics events for some of our customers. The issue was identified a few hours later but it took quite some time to investigate and apply a fix. It was finally solved on Sunday, April 5th at 10 pm UTC.
The analytic events affected include App Session, Invite Sent, Custom Events, and Purchase Events.
Push Notifications, Activity Feed and other Smart Invite events, like App Install and App Open were not affected.
We are trying really hard to recover the missing events during this period, however, in some cases, it won’t be possible.
The lack of these events means that Analytics graphs in our Dashboard might not be correct while the bug was live. This includes the reporting of average DAU, Invite Sent conversion, Engagement (New and retained users), Retention table and Revenue.
Also, any event-based Smart Flows that have been defined to be triggered with any of the affected events have not run.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we have set in place a new set of alarms that will help us to identified similar issues within minutes, instead of hours.
If you have any further questions, we would be happy to answer those through our usual support channels.
